his wine is aged for 6 months in wooden vats, 18 months in new French oak barrels and at least 12 months in bottle. Very deep, dark black cherry colour, closed at the heart, almost opaque; purple hues. Young-looking with very little sign of evolution. Sensations of concentration and depth, with lots of barely defined nuances which will develop over the coming years in the bottle. Fruit sensations predominate, with reminders of red-berries and small, very ripe, wild fruit (blackberries, blackcurrants, wild strawberries), floral notes (dry violet petals) and minerals (graphite, iron); spicy hints from the ageing process (evoking the spice rack: nutmeg, cinnamon, black pepper) but with very discrete wood (the sensations from ageing in the cask rather than of the cask itself), and underlying ink. Powerful, big. On the palate, a powerful backbone with good body and very fine, firm tannins and splendid acidity. It gives a solid sensation with no cracks and no sharp edges, solid , with great balance giving a fresh sensation. Supple and full of flavour, with wide, complex reminders of fruit, minerals, spices and ink in the mouth aromas (reproducing the sensations on the nose but perhaps even more defined and sharp) and in the long, full, elegant aftertaste. It is still taking its first steps in life, with a lot of vigour and noble strength, but it already shows great elegance and a balance which is seldom found in wines with this profile. A great red with no holds barred, ready to take on anything the world can offer.
