This year, in the passionate route to find and approach the most representative terroirs for an expressive but friendly Malbec, we have explored Mendoza, Argentina, looking for farmers that could give us different components from different zones in the Argentinean wine map; San Martín area (east of Mendoza) and Uco Valley (south of Mendoza) were chosen in this opportunity. The first component adds fruity and juicy flavors driven by the sandy soil. The structure and persistence come from Uco Valley. The blend we have done and rescued from these two small producers is our first attempt to bring a characteristic Malbec from Argentina to satisfy customers who seek exceptional wines with character and identity.
Our philosophy behind the winemaking is to keep the crafted profile of the wine, in order to save the character of each component, representing their zones and the variety as much as possible.
However, the wine should be friendly and fruit-driven. The grapes are hand-picked by local farmers and their families; the winemaking process is simple and with minimal intervention, finally, the blending process of components is carefully made to find our desired wine.
The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and after is aged with selected French oak for almost 6 months. The filtration is very low also trying to maintain its tannins and structure. The last stage is bottle aging for 4 months. All this process allows us to create a fruity Malbec with great character, representative of the variety and its origin. You can save this wine for the next 3-5 years.
