This is a varietal wine made of Tinta Fina from the property Pago de Valdegatiles, a small vineyard of 1.7 ha, with pre phyloxera vines. This wine is aged for 19 month in French oak barrels. It is recommended to decant this wine before tasting it. Tasting Notes: Bright ruby. Expressive aromas of fresh cherry, wild strawberry, redcurrant and minerals, with complicating floral notes and a suggestion exotic tobacco. Tangy and concentrated but crisp, the red fruit flavours showing precision and impressive energy through the long, spicy finish. Elegant and graceful but with real depth and power, too.

Vineyard: Sustainable viticulture in bush vines between 15 to 30 years of age. Fermentation: Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation processes carried out in large French oak vats. Maceration time: 19 days in contact with the skins. Ageing: 12 months in 100% semi-new French oak barrels. Stabilization: Completely natural methods. Bottles produced: 89.800 uds. Colour: Deep, red background with bluish hues throughout. Nose: Very expressive red fruit bouquet, specially ripe red cherry, with a nutty edge reminiscent of almonds and broken cherry bones. Medium bodied, with scant presence of the oak adding to the feeling of lightness and freshness it provides. Palate: Silky smooth, medium bodied, very fresh, well textured with no thoughs. The oak is hardly evident, with round, well integrated tannins, giving way to a lingering finish of seasoned red fruits that make it light and fresh. It showcases perfectly the quality of the 2009 vintage, in this case adding youth and freshness to the depth and ripeness of the seasoned fruit so prevalent in this vintage. HARVEST: 419 mm. rainfall. Rainy winter and spring. The harvest started with good water reserves. The whole cycle was ahead of time from the start. A very hot and dry summer. Maximum temperatures between 35ºC and 37ºC. The balanced vineyards managed to endure the lack of rain. Some rainfall in mid-September which rounded ripening and put an end to water stress. Fantastic weather until harvest. Excellent harvest.

This wine is aged for 6 months in wooden vats, 18 months in new French oak barrels and at least 12 months in bottle. The wine faithfully expresses the climatology that prevailed during the vintage, showing itself to be balanced and very juicy. Its easy-drinking character and “good manners” surprise you, even when you remember that it is only three years’ old and it is from a zone which usually needs more bottle time. That said, you can make allowance for the occasional rough edges on the palate which are of little importance and will round themselves off very quickly. The nose is attractive with fresher fruit than we are used to find in this wine. Very precise balance between red berry fruit and oaky spiciness which have still not fully integrated. The aromas show marked dimorphism. On the one hand, the fruit is complex, difficult to pin down, and on the other we have very clearly defined spices: black pepper, cloves, vanilla and a little charcoal. In the back of the nasal cavity the spiciness dominates, a little drier, but more elegant and much richer in nuances. The fruit only returns after a few seconds in the aftertaste where we again find the red berries and something which seems similar to peaches and ripe plums. In appearance it is rather more reddish than purple at the rim suggesting excellent acidity, boding well for the future.

This blend of over-ripened grapes on root stumps is picked late (usually in December) in order to obtain a sugar content of 150° Œchslé (that is 350 grams of sugar per litre of grape must). The Valaisan climate enables marsanne, pinot gris and petite arvine to be placed among the best sweet wines in the world. The \"Grain Noble Confidentiel\" Chart guarantees the continuation, the authenticity and the exceptional quality of this blend of wine. A dense yellow colour, with golden reflections; the perfumes are of strawberry eau de vie, white truffle, and preserved fruits; a very complicated sweet mellow wine with an excellent alcohol-acid balance. It is ideal for accompanying fried foie gras or in terrine form. It is an excellent dessert wine, combining well with fruit tarts; it can also be drunk with blue cheeses.

A selection of small bunches of grape berries are carefully sorted and picked from the heart of our vineyards. It is aged in large Swiss oak vats for a period of 12 months. The taste is characterised by its full-flavoured and well-balanced structure. Its richness, fruitiness, liveliness and minerals create a finely polished result which emphasizes the complexity of this cru enabling one to anticipate an excellent wine for keeping. Food-wine pairing: Marvellously accompanies tasty sea fish in a mild lemon sauce. One may also savour this wine with fish loaves and lightly smoked fish. This robust race wine is a delight for lovers of cheese, especially Alpine and hard cheeses.

The ideal wine to go with a nice peace of meat. Well preserved, needless to say – dry aged to the peak flavour. And then grilled to perfection. A filet mignon or a côte de boeuf. But of course it could also be a delicious sausage from the grill. Matured in wooden barrels made of French and American oak trees. On order also available in large sizes (magnum/double magnum). Label designed by the artist Ralf Abati from Bürgeln (Canton of Thurgau Switzerland). By the way, it is worth the while to put aside one or the other magnum of a good wine, because the wine ripens slower and more subtle in oversize bottles. It also keeps a few more years than a splendid wine in a normal sized bottle (this has to do with the ratio between oxygen and wine volume which is particularly favourable with magnums). So, make sure you get hold of a few magnums soon!

The idea that we have of a Chardonnay born from our terroir is first and foremost minerality and focus, doubled with an aromatic complexity (exotic fruits, honey, slight toasted notes) and a balanced structure on the palate (lively, rich and velvety). To accomplish this, we have reduced our yield per vine, and seperated our \"first juices\" (80%) from the first \"press juices\" (20%) which we vinify respectively using \"reductive\" and \"oxydative\" methods. The blend of the two wine bases has allowed us to realize this precision wine, characterised by a nice balance between freshness and body. Vineyards: « Villeraze » : Clay-limestone « Cantaoussel » : Clay-stoney white limestone - Density: 6500 vines / Ha. Harvest: Nocturnal harvest - Yields: 70 Hl / ha - Sorting - Dry ice at the parcel.
