Vintage evaluation: Winter was cold and relatively long. From April wehad a beautiful sunny weather until July, when colder weather and more rain were dominant. It didn’t fall permanently but in great quantities at once as rainstorms. From the beginning and mid August wehad nice summer weather again with really high temperature. This weather lasted until the end of the harvest which was in the first half of October. All along we had summer weather with 25-28 degrees without rain. The grape developed nicely in the whole year, the plantations showed extreme vitality, maybe they brought their best so far. Place of origin: Villány. Vineyard: Ördögárok. Age of the vines (years): 7. Vines/hectare: 7.200. Yield: 25 hl/ha. Method of cultivation: Middle cordon; 230 x 120 twin vines Harvest time: Mid September. Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation happened in steel tanks for cca. 10 days and the malolactic fermentation in barrels. Aged in 2nd filled barrique for 10 months. Characteristics: Typically „pinot” middle body, deep bourdon colour. Sweet, ripe aromas; vanilla and sour cherry mix at the first nose. In the background fine mineral, fungal-earthy marks with opening cocoa-cinnamon gusts, which are accompanied by a complex forest berry cavalcade with red and black berries in a full sip when tasting. Its acids are certain, the tannins are youthful, the aftertaste is long. All these show a complex, elegant and still kind Pinot Noir. Ripeness: Well drinkable even now, but it will reaches its peak expectedly cca. 2017-2018.

Vintage evaluation: Winter was unusually mild. The gemmation finished early – end of April, middle of May – according to the varieties. After this no intensive enduring heat came so the growth slowed down. The summer was unsteady – rainy and sunny periods followed each other. The slow growth delayed the harvest a bit, and the early grapes gave lighter, fragrant wines. At the late grapes the nice weather showed itself once again, so in the case of cabernets and merlot the must degrees developed well. It was expected as a harsh vintage, but finally can be deemed as productive. Age of the vines (years): 29 as average. Vines/hectare: 5000. Yield: 80 hl/ha. Method of cultivation: Middle cordon; 230 x 160 twin vines. Harvest time: Mid August. Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks at low temperatures. The wine gets no barrel aging, it is freshly bottled. Characteristics: Wine with a characteristic onion peel colour. In its nose: ripe, sweet, fragrant fruits. Strawberry and blackberry tempt us to taste. The acids are dashing, strengthening the nice, dry rosé character. Light and fresh – wine of everydays. Ripeness: Its strength is the fruitiness therefore we suggest drinking it fresh.
