Vineyards: Made with our best grapes, selected from vineyards aged over 40 years, with very low yields and high quality grapes. Elaboration: The different varieties taking part in the wine are vinified separately in order to obtain the best qualities of the grapes. Subsequently the coupage is done and after this the wine is placed in American and French oak barrels where it remains for a minimum of 12 months. Finally the wine is bottled, where it remains for a minimum of 7 months, before It is made available to the market. Tasting notes: Attractive red cherry colour. Intense on the nose where the captivating aromas of black fruit marry with sweet, spicy and balsamic aromas reminiscent of its time in the oak barrel. Initially soft on the palate, the flavours then develop revealing an elegant mid-palate, becoming rich and full. The well integrated notes of fruit with toasty sensations linger. Finishes with mineral and forest floor flavours. Serving temperature:16-18 ºC.

Careful selection of our best and oldest Garnacha vines, grown on slopes at an altitude of more than 550 m on stony soils with little organic matter, resulting in low yields per vine. This allows for slow ripening and great balance in the berries. Elaboration: Painstaking supervision of these vineyards throughout the growing cycle helped to accurately determine the date for the manual grape harvest. The grapes were carefully vinified, with gentle pump overs to bring out the elegant, silky tannins present in the wine. Ageing for 8 months in new French oak barrels rounds off the wine’s character and empowers its personality. Tasting notes: It has a bright, clean cherry red colour. Its floral, fruity profile is manifest to the nose, making it a fresh, fragant wine with notes of strawberries and hints of citrus fruits to accompany a background of underbrush and herbal scents. Spices and light oak fragances intermingle with the fruit and wrap themselves in a mineral touch. Creamy, complex and fun in the mouth, with flavoursome tannins to make it lively. Serving temperature: 16-18 ºC.

Vineyards: Located at an altitude of 400 to 600 metres on eastern facing hillsides, in calcareous clay soils. Elaboration: Once the optimum ripening time has been established, the grapes are harvested carefully. Later, the grapes are destemmed and submitted to a cold pre-maceration. Subsequently, the alcoholic fermentation takes place at temperatures no higher than 28ºC with soft pump-overs that enable extraction of the full range of elegant aromas characteristic of the grapes grown in our area. Tasting notes: The wine shows a red cherry colour with violet nuances that denotes its youth. On the nose, it has varietal aromas nicely blended with the red fruits. Vineyard: Organic viticulture. Grape Variety: 100 % Maturana Tinta Vine: 10-year-old vines. Soil: This vineyard is located in the Najerilla Valley at an altitude of 565 meters above sea level, on south-facing terraces in stony, calcareous-clay soils. Winemaking: After destemming, the grapes are held in new 500-liter French (Tronçais) oak barrels, where alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation, and ageing takes place. The wine remains in the barrels with the lees for 11 months. Ageing: 11 months in new 500-liter French oak barrels (Tronçais). Harvest: Hand-harvested in cases of 17 kg in the second week of October. Vineyard yield of 5.500 kg per hectare. 2010 Vintage: Was rated as an Excellent year by the Control Board of the Rioja Designation of Origin (D.O.Ca.Rioja). It was a year of normal rainfall, with a very old winter. Some rainfall arrived in June, and the end of summer was, in general, dry and sunny. During winter, there was a lot of heavy snowfall which left a good reservoir of water in the subsoil for growth. A warm, dry spring was excellent for the growth and development of the buds. There was very little rainfall throughout the summer resulting in perfect development of the grapes and the fruit set was better than in earlier vintages. Climate: The climate has an Atlantic influence, with cold winters, warm summers and long warm autumns. The strong temperature variation between day and night causes a slow ripening, which is very suitable for producing polyphenols, developing aromas, and giving our wines their characteristic quality. These characteristics high light the elegance of aromas of this wine.
